Blog Post #2
I find it interesting how technology is being integrated into the classroom and partnered with certain strategies it can enhance the learning through various researched and applied methods. As a future math/physics teacher I hope to be able to understand how to implement and critique my own use of technology. Through the use of the Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition (SAMR) Model, I would like to be help students enjoy mathematical concepts, on various devices and applications, through interactive learning and games. I don't think I would be able to fully allow for a complete implementation of the entire process but I believe, "A continual re-examination of practice to make the best possible use of technology" (Puentedura, 2016), is essential in today's classroom. I look forward and the possibility of restructuring math problems, through the use of technology, to present on an almost individual basis if I can.
I understand in enhancing my own instruction I should learn guidance from different sources of material such as, Building Better Instruction. I try recognize that each student is different and using different strategies will enhance different methods of learning for students, I realize that I may be able to utilize certain strategies more effective than others, but I want to be able to help students learn how to utilize effective "Summarizing and Note Taking" (Brabec, Fisher, & Pitler, 2004) stills and take steps to restructure information in meaningful ways. I find it personally helpful, especially in Physics, taking known information and equations and solving problems in letters before introducing numbers and placing information into charts.

Good reflection on the required readings. I hope the SAMR model gives you an easier way to begin implementing technology into your classroom.
